German carmaker began to update their product lines with a 3-Series coupe and convertible which now fall within the range of 4-series. And now it is known that the same will be done with the 1st series.
Three-and five-door models will be marketed under the name of the 1-series, but the coupe and convertible will become badges of the 2nd series. The new BMW 2-Series will be more athletic in terms of handling, but will share the range of engines with a hatchback 1-series. This means that the car will be equipped with four-cylinder 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 170 horsepower.
There will also be provided, and a modified two-liter engine with 180 horsepower. Besides these, the BMW suggest to take a three-liter six-cylinder engine using the supercharged power of 350 horsepower. However, this engine will be available only for version as M2.
