Less than 24 hours before the opening of the Frankfurt Motor Show, Lexus GS 450h is officially lineup in 2013. Novelty has come to replace the hybrid premium sedan, which came to market in 2007. Like its predecessor, GS 450h is based on the GS 350 platform, combining a 3.5-liter gasoline engine with Atkinson cycle hybrid system and a proprietary motor.
Together, the two motors have a capacity of 338 hp, which is transmitted to the rear wheels through a continuously variable transmission E-CVT (Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission). According to the manufacturer, GS 450h accelerates from 0 to 96 km / h in just 5.6 seconds, while developing a maximum speed of 210 km / h. At the same time, average fuel consumption decreased by more than 30%, reaching U.S. standard Super-Ultra Low Emissions Vehicle II (SULEV II).
Like all hybrid cars Lexus, GS 450h can move only one electric motor, the petrol V6 or use just two options. The driver can choose from four driving modes: Eco, EV, Sport S and Sport S +.
Hybrid received the following exclusive features: trehlampovy headlight design (low / high beam and turn signal) and a rear bumper, exhaust pipes covering the hole gas. The interior is different from the GS 350 GS 450h, the presence of the latter bamboo trim steering wheel and a hybrid monitor.
