The new compact coupe Lexus, which will compete with the BMW X1 and Audi Q3, plans to build a crossover based on the Toyota RAV4. The car will be offered exclusively as a hybrid. According to the German edition of AutoBild, this machine will be called the CX 300h, the total capacity of the power plant will be about 200 horsepower, while the average fuel consumption will not exceed five liters per hundred kilometers. According to him, such a car is necessary to increase sales and better compete with the German premium manufacturers such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. Krambs also noted that the range of Lexus in the near future also will be relatively affordable family sedan, which is considered the management of brands as potential replacement model ES 300. Another novelty of the Japanese manufacturer will be a big seven-passenger SUV. His task will be to fight for customers with the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GL and Audi Q7. In addition, for hybrid hatchback Lexus CT 200h will offer a more powerful modification. At the moment, this car has a 136-strong power plant that consists of a 1.8-liter gasoline engine and a set of nickel-metal hydride batteries. Also, in a short time the Japanese manufacturer plans to offer more options for their vehicles, increasing the number of options for interior design, materials, finishes and colors.
