Toyota has revealed the first image series rechargeable hybrid Prius PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), which will premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show September 13, 2011. From that shown in Detroit earlier prototype of the novelty does not differ in appearance. Prius is equipped with a more compact and more capacious unit lithium-ion batteries, allowing greater travel distance in electric mode - about 21 kilometers. Fuel consumption of the new hatchback, at the request of the Japanese, will be only 2.2 liters per 100 kilometers. The car is equipped with a hybrid powertrain, which consists of a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with 98 horsepower (142 lb) and 80-horsepower electric motor. Recharging time from 240-volt outlet will be only 1.5 hours, and 120-volt - twice.
